Use Siri with shortcuts you already have

A useful workflow today does not need a promise about tomorrow’s AI integration.

Build a small, testable shortcut

Open Shortcuts, add an action for a task you repeat and supply any required input. Run it inside Shortcuts first. If it creates a task or note, check the destination app. This separates problems in the workflow from problems recognizing your voice command.

Name it, then ask Siri

Give the shortcut a distinctive, pronounceable name. Activate Siri and say that name. Apple notes that shortcuts which open an app may require you to unlock the device. Permissions, confirmations and input requests can still interrupt a hands-free flow; test the actual conditions you plan to use.

Choose apps with documented actions

Things documents Shortcuts support for task workflows; Drafts documents text automation; Toolbox Pro offers additional Shortcuts actions. Follow each developer’s current instructions and check purchase requirements. We have not verified new Siri AI support for these apps. Treat their documented shortcuts and future App Intents announcements separately.
