Siri AI vs ChatGPT: choose by task

Separate an assistant built into your device from a separate chat service, and from optional integrations.

Start with where the information lives

Apple describes Siri AI as using personal context, onscreen awareness and app actions. If your task concerns information in supported Apple apps or an action on your device, check Siri AI’s eligibility and available actions first. The scope depends on your device, permissions and rollout; it is not blanket access to every app.

An integration is not the whole product

Apple’s broader Apple Intelligence documentation discusses ChatGPT integration. That is a different question from whether the new Siri AI beta is available to your account. This guide does not claim model rankings, identical responses, shared subscriptions or equal privacy policies. Check the service you are actually using before sending personal information.

Compare a real task, not a promise

Use a non-sensitive example. Decide whether you need an explanation, a draft or an action in an app. Review the output for accuracy and verify whether the action actually occurred. Check current limits and privacy notices independently for each service. There is no universal winner established by the Apple sources cited here.
