Craft and Apple Shortcuts: Documents, Tasks and Scope

Craft documents Shortcuts and updated direct Siri capabilities, with Mac Siri described as an Apple beta; the matching public release and exact new Siri AI scope remain unverified here. Document requests use the most recently used Space. Readable content is limited to the first level of the 50 most recently edited documents, excluding deeper subpages.

What to know

Existing Shortcuts support does not confirm a new Siri AI integration. Craft documents updated direct Siri capabilities, but their public release and exact new Siri AI integration scope are not independently confirmed here. Craft actions do not run on Apple Watch.

Try it step by step

  1. In Shortcuts, create a shortcut, search for Craft, and add Add to Document. Select the intended Space and a test document or today’s Daily Note.
  2. Add Apple’s Dictate Text before the Craft action, connect its result to Content, and choose Append or Prepend deliberately.
  3. Run the shortcut manually, grant relevant permissions, and inspect the saved content. Set Open App if you want to see the result immediately.
  4. Give the shortcut a distinct name and ask Siri to run it. Repair failing legacy actions by adding the replacement, reconnecting inputs and outputs, and retesting before removing the old action.

Use Shortcuts for a defined Craft destination

Craft documents a practical Apple Shortcuts integration for creating documents, adding material to existing documents, and working with Daily Notes. A shortcut specifies the input, destination Space, and action sequence. That makes it suitable for a repeatable voice inbox or meeting preparation workflow whose result you can inspect. Craft’s documentation explicitly distinguishes Apple actions, such as Dictate Text and Show Notification, from its own Add to Document action. Connecting those building blocks is a configured workflow, rather than a promise that Siri will infer your document structure. This entry therefore uses Shortcuts documented as its primary status, while separately describing Craft’s newer direct Siri documentation.

Choose document actions and repair older workflows

The current library includes Create Document, Add to Document, Add Subpage to Document, Find Page, Open Document, Open Daily Note, and actions for renaming, moving, or deleting documents. Folder, navigation, task, and reminder groups provide other building blocks. For a voice inbox, start with dictated text and pass that text into Add to Document; inspect whether the destination is a fixed document or today’s Daily Note. A planning page can instead collect Calendar events and Reminders before creating a document. Craft warns that replacement actions may keep the same names as older ones. Its migration table replaces Create Craft Doc with Create Document and Add to Doc with Add to Document. Copy the destination settings, reconnect Content, and reconnect later actions that used the old result. Removing an old action before checking its connections makes repair harder.

What Craft says direct Siri can read and change

Craft’s separate Siri article says Siri can find documents, answer questions from their content, create documents, append text, and manage dated tasks. The reading scope is specific: the on-device Spotlight index shares first-level content from the 50 most recently edited documents. Deeper subpages are excluded. Other documents share titles and details such as folders and dates, allowing discovery without making their full contents readable. Document requests use the Space most recently used in Craft; changing it requires opening the other Space in the app first. Task requests can name a Space as a list, but only tasks with a schedule or deadline are shared as reminders. These documented constraints matter when a document is discoverable yet Siri cannot answer a question about its contents.

Keep editing limits and rollout evidence separate

The direct Siri article excludes rewriting, reorganizing, or deleting existing document content. It describes plain-text reading and writing; formatting requests can become literal characters. Those limits apply to that Siri route, not to every Shortcuts action: Craft separately lists Delete Document in its Shortcuts library. Craft also says the updated Mac Siri is an Apple beta and describes regional restrictions for iPhone and iPad. Its vendor statement is meaningful evidence, but this review has not independently matched it to a public Craft version and the exact new Siri AI release scope. It neither upgrades the badge nor claims that all third-party Siri integrations are unavailable. For Shortcuts, permissions and unlocking can still be required, and Craft actions are unsupported on Apple Watch. Sources were checked on November 6, 2026, without a device test. Common questions

Does this listing verify Craft’s new Siri AI integration?

No. Craft documents updated direct Siri capabilities as well as Shortcuts. This review preserves that statement and its limits, but has not independently confirmed the matching public app release and exact new Siri AI scope. The primary classification remains shortcuts; that is an evidence boundary, not a denial of Craft’s documentation.

Why can Siri find a Craft document but not read all of it?

Craft says only the first-level content of the 50 most recently edited documents is shared for reading through its on-device index. Deeper subpages are excluded. Other documents contribute titles and details rather than their full content. Document requests also use the most recently used Craft Space.

Can Craft Shortcuts run on Apple Watch?

Craft’s Shortcuts documentation says its actions are not supported on Apple Watch. Run workflows containing those actions on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Permissions may still be needed, and launching a shortcut while a device is locked can require unlocking before the workflow can continue.
