Siri AI Supported Devices: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch and Vision Pro

Siri AI (Beta) needs a device on Apple’s supported list and the relevant OS 27 release. The standard iPhone 15, iPhone 14 Pro and Intel Macs are outside that list. Apple Watch also needs a paired iPhone with Siri AI enabled. Check your exact model before changing settings.

Which iPhones qualify?

Apple lists iPhone 15 Pro models, iPhone 16 models or later, iPhone Duo and iPhone Air, running iOS 27. That distinction matters within the iPhone 15 family: the 15 Pro models are listed, while the standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are not. The iPhone 14 Pro is also absent, despite its Pro name. An iPhone being able to run iOS 27 does not, by itself, establish Siri AI compatibility.

If you are comparing phones, start with the exact model name, then check the account region and language requirements. Our iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 pages address those families separately. For an iPhone 16e purchase, confirm the exact model against current Apple documentation rather than relying on a seller’s shortened family name. Check the model being offered before deciding whether it meets your needs.

Which iPads qualify?

For iPadOS 27, Apple names the iPad mini with A17 Pro, the iPad mini with A20 Pro, and iPad models with an M1 chip or later. Check the chip or the full mini model name rather than relying on screen size or the age of the tablet. Both named mini chips matter: an older summary that mentions only A17 Pro leaves out A20 Pro.

This is the basic Siri AI device list, not a promise that every supported iPad gets every voice option. Expressive voices have a narrower iPad requirement: iPad mini with A20 Pro, or an iPad with M4 or later and at least 12 GB of memory. The dedicated iPad page can help separate those two questions.

Which Macs qualify?

On macOS 27 Golden Gate, Apple lists Macs with M1 or later and the MacBook Neo with A18 Pro. Intel Macs are not on that list. If you own an Intel model, updating macOS alone is not evidence that Siri AI will become available. For a Mac with Apple silicon, identify its chip before checking the other eligibility conditions.

A supported Mac is especially relevant in the European Union, where Apple’s rules differ by platform. Siri AI is unavailable there on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, but can be available on macOS 27 Golden Gate when the Apple Account region and matching supported device and Siri languages meet Apple’s conditions. Expressive voices are narrower again: Apple lists M3 or later Macs with at least 12 GB of memory.

What do Apple Watch and Vision Pro require?

Apple lists Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Ultra 2 or later, and SE 3 on watchOS 27. A listed watch is only part of the setup: it must be paired with an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone that has Siri AI turned on. Check the phone first if the watch is your main reason for looking into Siri AI. The pairing requirement does not establish that every action works independently on the watch.

For Apple Vision Pro, Apple lists every model on visionOS 27. That is a broader hardware statement than the expressive-voice rule: the latter specifies Vision Pro with M5. In the EU, visionOS 27 can qualify under Apple’s account-region and matching supported-language conditions, unlike the listed mobile and watch platforms.

What else should you check before choosing a device?

Hardware is the first check, not the last. Apple requires the device language and Siri language to be the same supported language, and the Apple Account region must qualify. Its current supported languages are English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. An Apple Account region set to mainland China currently does not work. These conditions can explain why a listed device does not show the option in Settings → Siri → Try Siri AI (Beta).

Keep basic access separate from expressive voices. That English-only feature has stricter hardware and memory requirements; do not use its shorter device list to rule out basic Siri AI. HomePod is another separate question: the cited Apple device list does not establish HomePod mini support or its future plans. Before choosing HomePod mini for Siri AI, look for an explicit statement from Apple naming that product and its requirements.

Common questions

Does the standard iPhone 15 support Siri AI?

No. Apple’s iPhone list starts with the iPhone 15 Pro models and also includes iPhone 16 models or later, iPhone Duo and iPhone Air. The standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are not listed. Check the exact model rather than assuming that every phone in the iPhone 15 family has the same eligibility.

Can an Intel Mac use Siri AI after a software update?

Intel Macs are not on Apple’s Siri AI device list. For macOS 27 Golden Gate, Apple lists Macs with M1 or later and the MacBook Neo with A18 Pro. A software update does not change which chip your Mac has. If you have an eligible Mac, you still need to check its language and Apple Account region.

Does a supported Apple Watch work without an eligible iPhone?

Apple requires a listed watch to be paired with an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone that has Siri AI enabled. Its watch list includes Series 9 or later, Ultra 2 or later, and SE 3 on watchOS 27. Check both devices and the pairing before expecting Siri AI on the watch; the listing does not promise independent access to every action.

Do expressive voices have the same requirements as basic Siri AI?

No. Apple limits expressive voices to English and a narrower set of devices, with additional memory requirements for some iPads and Macs. A device can qualify for basic Siri AI without qualifying for expressive voices. Check the basic device list first, then assess the voice requirements separately if that particular feature matters to you.
